The Natalie and Irving Forman Collection celebrated the significant gift of paintings, sculptures, and works on paper that was recognized at The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy’s Annual Meeting on October 8, 2003. The Formans, married for 58 years, began collecting contemporary art in the 1950s. Since that time, they amassed one of the most important collections of monochromatic art in the world, including works by Josef Albers, John Beech, Burgoyne Diller, Marcia Hafif, James Howell, Joseph Marioni, John Meyer, Phil Sims, and Peter Tollens, to name just a few.

This exhibition project, directed by Deputy Director Karen Lee Spaulding, featured an exhibition installation collaborated on by the Formans with Director Louis Grachos.
