M&T FIRST FRIDAYS at the Buffalo AKG, in collaboration with Beau Fleuve Music and Arts, presents The Love Within—a thoughtfully curated evening that invites guests on an immersive journey through the museum, where art, culture, and creativity converge to create a memorable and inspiring experience.

Featuring musical performances by Makenzie with the Rod Bonner Trio, the Nicholas Brothers, and Saranaide; poetry performances by renowned poets Brandon Williamson, Deia Elwadi, Dallas Taylor, and Ashley M. Hardy; a film screening, and interactive art.

Guests will have the opportunity to create art and connect with their emotions in Drop-In Artmaking, where a collaborative community art piece will be brought to life. A Love Within playlist, curated specifically for the evening, will guide attendees through an emotional and artistic journey, amplifying the night’s theme.

“Beau Fleuve is honored to partner with the Buffalo AKG for M&T First Fridays once again, bringing our signature cultural experience to the community. Our mission is to break down financial barriers and make these events not just accessible, but unforgettable. Every element of LOVE WITHIN is designed to inspire connection, creativity, and celebration. It’s more than an event, it’s an experience where art, music, and culture thrive together.” – Lindsey L. Taylor, Founder/Chairman of Beau Fleuve Music & Arts

Pay-What-You-Wish Admission
Museum-wide from 10 am to 9 pm

Every first Friday of the month, the community is invited to attend a special evening at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum filled with interactive art events and activities inspired by our exhibitions and the works on view.

Explore the Entire Museum!
Free Drop-In Art Activities and paid classes take place in our studios. Artist Demonstrations and other fun surprises take place in our Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Town Square. Drop-In Drawing moves throughout the museum, allowing visitors to see different works on view each month.

Hear from Our Community!
Community Insights invites local folks to share how their work relates to the art on view. This provides a new way to see how modern and contemporary art relate to our present moment in Western New York. Join us for curator and docent-led tours of our exhibitions and collection.

Experience Something New!
Each month offers a changing array of music, talks, performances, and films throughout the museum. Listen to live music at our Sculpture Bar. Enjoy performances from local dance troupes and learn a few moves yourself! Hear conversations between artists, curators, and others in our Standford and Judith Lipsey Auditorium. Connect to the art on view through film and enjoy new and classic releases.
