Location
The museum’s underground Parking Garage is located under the Great Lawn on Elmwood Avenue and accessed from the Elmwood Avenue driveway. The maximum vehicle height for safe entry into the Parking Garage is 8'2".

Fridays, 9 am–9 pm

Please know that our Parking Garage hours may differ from our museum operating hours. 

Direct accessible entry from the Parking Garage into the Jeffrey E. Gundlach Building is located in the northwest corner, which leads to elevator access into the museum. Patrons who park in the Garage may also use the ramp at the south end that leads to the park and entryway of the Seymour H. Knox Building. Please note that this sidewalk does not provide an accessible path for wheelchairs, strollers, or other mobility devices.

If you are a Buffalo AKG member visiting the museum, please be sure to receive a QR code for your parking discount at a Visitor Services desk, the Shop, or Cornelia. When returning to the Parking Garage following your visit, please scan your parking ticket and QR code at one of the parking stations and pay before exiting the garage. 

The Buffalo AKG Art Museum is located west of Buffalo State University and east of Hoyt Lake and Delaware Park. 

Accessible parking spaces are available in the museum’s Parking Garage (maximum vehicle height of 8'2") and along the loop outside the Elmwood Entrance of the Seymour H. Knox Building. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are also four accessible parking spaces on Lincoln Parkway. Accessible entrances, with power assist doors, are located on both sides of the Knox Building and on the ground and parking levels of the Jeffrey E. Gundlach Building.   

If dropping off or picking up a museum visitor, either by car or by bus, please enter our driveway from Elmwood Avenue and pull up to the Elmwood Entrance of the Knox Building. Additionally, vehicles may pull into our by-lane along Elmwood Avenue adjacent to the Gundlach Building entrance. 

Bus parking for school tours or large groups can be found along Lincoln Parkway; however, please drop off passengers at the Elmwood Entrance of the Knox Building prior to parking. The nearest bus stop is located at the closest corner, approximately 500 feet from the Elmwood Entrance. 

Public parking can be found along Elmwood Avenue, Forest Avenue, and Lincoln Parkway. Please obey all marked signs and pay applicable parking fees to avoid getting a parking ticket.  If parking at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, please know a parking fee applies. If dropping off or picking up a museum visitor, please enter our driveway from Elmwood Avenue and pull up to the Knox Building West entrance for drop-off.

The Buffalo AKG is serviced by Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) bus line 20, with stations northbound and southbound at Elmwood Avenue and Rockwell Road, directly in front of the museum.
