Today the Albright-Knox Art Gallery expressed its gratitude to the foundation and corporate partners that have supported the AK360 Capital Campaign.

On November 5, 2016, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will open a new exhibition titled Picasso: The Artist and His Models. The exhibition will be located in the North Galleries of the museum’s 1905 Building and will remain on view until February 19, 2017. The museum will also extend its hours until 9 pm every Thursday for the duration of the exhibition.

Janne Sirén, the Peggy Pierce Elfvin Director of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, today announced that the museum’s once-in-a-lifetime expansion project, known as AK360, has taken a giant leap forward in record time with the pledge of the largest single private donation to a cultural institution in the history of Buffalo, New York.

In the coming week, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery’s Public Art Initiative will complete the installation of a monumental multi-site artwork by Brooklyn-based artist Amanda Browder.

Joan Linder: Operation Sunshine highlights Linder’s most recent body of work, which explores toxic waste sites in Buffalo, Tonawanda, and Niagara Falls, New York, and the documents related to such precarious properties.

Today the Albright-Knox Art Gallery announced dates and lineups for its Art of Jazz, Buffalo Chamber Players, and Director’s Lecture Series programs.

The new mural will be completed by artist Daniel Galas at 74 Jewett Avenue as part of the AK Public Art Initiative. The location is home to Koch Metal Spinning, and the mural is made possible by Bank of America and Tri-Main Development LLC.

The mural, titled Dream Keepers, was completed by Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology students with the guidance and assistance of New York–based artist Alice Mizrachi through the Public Art Public School Voices program.

Tomorrow, June 18, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will open a new exhibition, Defining Sculpture, featuring works drawn exclusively from the museum’s collection and organized by Chief Curator Emeritus Douglas Dreishpoon.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery has selected the award-winning firm OMA to expand and refurbish the museum’s historic campus. The decision was approved today by the Albright-Knox Board of Directors following a rigorous international search for an architectural partner to collaborate on the museum’s first expansion in more than half a century. The project, entitled AK360, will be OMA’s first art museum project in the United States. It will enlarge and enhance the Albright-Knox, enabling the institution to better serve diverse audiences and to flourish in the twenty-first century.
