The Albright-Knox’s Innovation Lab and its partners have been recommended by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Our Town program for an award of $100,000 for SACRA, the Society for the Advancement of Construction-Related Arts.

On Saturday, June 24, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will open the first large-scale museum exhibition in North America devoted to the work of celebrated artist Joe Bradley.

Tomorrow the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will open a new exhibition entitled Shark Girl: Never Quite There. The exhibition explores artist Casey Riordan Millard’s many depictions of Buffalo’s beloved Shark Girl, 2013, including works on paper, paintings, sculptures, and installations.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery announced today the hiring of Dr. Tina Rivers Ryan as Assistant Curator, a new position in the museum’s Curatorial Department.

Peggy Pierce Elfvin Director Janne Sirén today revealed that one of the epoch-making artists of the 1960s, Marisol, bequeathed her estate to the Albright-Knox, based on her longstanding ties with the museum.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery is proud to present Exposition, the 2017 AK Teens: Future Curators exhibition. Exposition will be on view in the Albright-Knox’s Clifton Hall Link from Friday, April 21, to Sunday, May 14, 2017, and in the gallery space at the Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology (located at 1221 Main Street in Buffalo) through Thursday, April 27, 2017.

Beginning Saturday, March 11, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will open a new exhibition, Menagerie: Animals on View, featuring creatures—furred and feathered—as agents of storytelling, humorous personifications, and echoes of the human spirit. The exhibition will remain on view until June 4.

Beginning Sunday, March 12, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will introduce a new program, Five Dollar Family Funday. Museum admission for the entire family will cost just $5 and will include an array of programming for children and their families. It will continue on the second Sunday of every month.

Beginning February 18, 2017, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will open four solo exhibitions featuring new work by artists Tamar Guimarães and Kasper Akhøj, Jacob Kassay, Eric Mack, and Willa Nasatir. These shows are all the artists' first solo American museum exhibitions.

Beginning March 11, 2017, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery will host an exhibition for British artist Shantell Martin. In May 2017, Martin will also work with the AK Public Art Initiative to create a permanent mural on Buffalo’s East Side. 

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Concert this Sunday, December 11, at 3 pm, in the museum’s Auditorium. The tree will feature the museum’s rare 18th-century Neapolitan crèche.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery has launched a redesigned website containing many new features at www.albrightknox.org. The site was designed and developed by Emmy award–winning digital agency Bluecadet under the management of the museum’s Publications department.
