Today the Albright-Knox announced that Shark Girl, the wildly popular public sculpture from the museum’s Public Art Initiative, will be temporarily removed from her location at Canalside Buffalo during the second week of October for some well-deserved pampering in the form of artwork conservation.

The Albright-Knox Art Gallery’s Innovation Lab and its partners have been recommended by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Research: Art Works program for an award of $85,000 for the Art of Visual Comprehension project.

Today the Albright-Knox Art Gallery announced it will open an exhibition by artist Anthony McCall in August 2019. Anthony McCall: Dark Rooms, Solid Light will be McCall’s first solo museum exhibition in North America and will occupy the museum’s entire 1905 Building.
