On November 21, 1975, the museum debuted the paintings, drawings, and sculptures of The Martha Jackson Collection at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. A native Buffalonian, prescient art dealer, and close friend of many of the most significant contemporary artists of her era, Martha Jackson worked tirelessly as an advocate for the museum for twenty-five years until her sudden death in 1969. In 1974, Jackson’s son, David Anderson, and his wife gifted forty-four works by forty artists to the museum in her memory. Learn more
