Contemporary Art: Acquisitions 1966–1969
Tuesday, June 17, 1969–Monday, September 1, 1969
Contemporary Art: Acquisitions 1966–1969 was part of a series of exhibitions highlighting the growth of the museum’s collection. Between 1966 and when the exhibition opened in June of 1969, the Albright-Knox added one hundred forty-four works of art to its collection. Of these, sixty-one were gifts of Seymour H. Knox and nineteen were gifts of The Seymour H. Knox Foundation, Incorporated. Although the majority of these acquisitions were contemporary, a number of works of arts from earlier periods in art history also entered the collection.
