Join Curator of Public Art Aaron Ott for a tour of Hi-Vis, which celebrates the artists who have worked with the Buffalo AKG’s Public Art Initiative during its first ten years.
Aaron Ott has been the Curator of Public Art since the Public Art Initiative began in 2013, overseeing more than 60 public art projects, installations, and exhibitions. Ott champions work that engages its audience and is responsive to its space. He envisions public art as a holistic enterprise, from conception to installation. Making art is an opportunity to build relationships with local partners, to foster the talents of makers of all kinds, and to create beautiful and provocative places where people can come together.
Hi-Vis is an invitational survey exhibition that celebrates the artists who have worked with the Buffalo AKG’s Public Art Initiative in its first ten years of existence. While you may recognize the works of these artists found throughout the region, you might not know the depth, the breadth, and the variety of art practices they embrace. Hi-Vis allows us to look closely and engage deeply with the practices behind the public art.
