Richard Artschwager’s Theme(s) featured a wide range of the artist’s paintings, sculptures, and drawings, including his surreal black and white paintings on textured wall coverings and his Formica "furniture.”

American Paintings of the 1970s featured fifty works by fifty artists, surveying the diverse painting styles and artistic trends of the 1970s.

This exhibition featured photographs, designs, drawings, and continuous videotape presentations that documented not only the collaborative efforts of the Steina and Woody Vasulka but also their separate, yet parallel, investigations in video art.

Paul Sharits: Dream Displacement and Other Projects featured recent work by one of the leading experimental filmmakers working at the time. 

Co-organized with The Museum of Modern Art, under the auspices of the International Council of The Museum of Modern Art and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Constructivism in Poland, 1923–1948 was the first major survey exhibition of Polish Constructivists in the United States.

The fifty-one photographs of major modern artists by renowned photographers included in this exhibition were the gift of Seymour H. Knox, Jr. All the artists in the photographs are represented in the Albright-Knox’s collection.
