Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House
Join us for day of discussion, curriculum connections, and activities inspired by the special exhibition The Space Between: Frank Lloyd Wright | Jun Kaneko. Martin House Director of Education Gina Miano and Albright-Knox School and Docent Programs Coordinator Lindsay Kranz will lead participants in an exploration of how to use Jun Kaneko's ceramic sculptures as a catalyst for student-centered learning.
The workshop will begin with a tour of this exciting public art exhibition by Lindsay Kranz, during which we'll learn about Jun Kaneko and his practice, then continue with a hands-on activity inspired by his works of art. Lunch will be provided by Current Catering. (Registrants will be contacted regarding food preferences and allergy concerns.) Then we'll tour the Martin House with Gina Miano to discover Japanese influence throughout Wright’s design and décor. Finally, the group will explore a variety of Japanese-inspired artmaking techniques. CTLE credit will be available.
