Museum Archives and Special Collections
The Buffalo AKG Art Museum’s Archives and Special Collections include the official records of the museum’s governing body, the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy; documentation of artist interviews conducted by the Buffalo AKG; and special collections of archival material donated to the museum by artists, collectors, and others.
The term archival material denotes records that are preserved for their enduring legal, administrative, and/or historical value. Archival records may be in any format, and archival collections can include letters, postcards, meeting minutes, notebooks, typescripts, drafts, photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, and more.

Special Archival Collections
The Buffalo AKG holds several special collections of archival materials that were donated to us because they pertain to artists or artworks in our Fine Art Collection.
