Elmwood Village
The Buffalo AKG Art Museum is located just north of the Elmwood Village, which centers on Elmwood Avenue and extends from Forest Avenue south to Allen Street. The area encompasses some of the city’s best shopping, dining, parks, green spaces, and cultural locations.
Allentown
A hub for art, nightlife, galleries, restaurants, shopping, and creativity of all sorts, Allentown is adjacent to the Elmwood Village, with its heart at the intersection of Allen Street and Elmwood Avenue (less than three miles south of the Buffalo AKG).
Hertel Avenue
Hertel Avenue earned the title of Buffalo’s “Little Italy” because of its high concentration of Italian bakeries and grocers, and has broadened its appeal to become an exciting neighborhood full of diverse restaurants, bars, antique and gift shops, and the recently renovated North Park Theatre, a classic 1920s movie house. The neighborhood is also home to many public murals. The gateway to Hertel Avenue starts at its intersection with Delaware Avenue, less than two miles from the museum.
