If you think that you don’t belong in this museum, this talk is for you. Please join the Buffalo AKG as we host a panel discussion that will explore the question of whether people make art, or whether art makes people, with renowned Hip-Hop scholar Bakari Kitwana.
Kitwana, who served as the editor for The Source magazine, has had a unique perch from which to observe the changes in Hip-Hop culture, African American culture, and international youth culture. His extensive background will contribute to a robust discussion.
In Run Towards Fear, the AKG will explore, with its panelists and audience, how both Hip-Hop and modern and contemporary art were created in response to culture, as well as their roles in shaping it.
