Virtual Presentation Series for Educators: Who’s Afraid of Contemporary Art? Spotlight on Do Ho Suh
Wednesday, November 11, 2020
6:30 pm - 7:15 pm EST
FREE for educators
Virtual Event
This second event in our new monthly series for educators will focus on artist Do Ho Suh and his sculpture Karma, 2010, exploring the artist's focus on the human experience and how one engages with (or enters!) his works. While we follow Suh's frequent relocations, we’ll discuss some of the themes of his work, including community, space, place, and identity. We’ll also explore how the artist’s processes can inspire lesson plan development and artmaking.
Registration
Please register online. Registered participants will receive a link to join this virtual event the morning of the program.
About the Series
In these free monthly presentations just for educators, we will explore contemporary artists from the Albright-Knox’s collection and public art projects for curriculum inspiration. Join School and Docent Programs Coordinator Lindsay Kranz for discussions on how contemporary artists are exploring what it means to be a citizen in the 21st century and how those themes might engage students in virtual and in-person learning.
