From January 2020 through June 2022, the museum operated Albright-Knox Northland, a refurbished manufacturing facility in the Northland Corridor on Buffalo's East Side, in order to continue to engage communities across Western New York while the main campus was closed for construction. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Albright-Knox Northland was the site of six dynamic exhibitions, each of which provided new pathways for visitors to engage with art and creativity that would not have been possible on the museum's Elmwood Avenue campus.
