Alex Da Corte (b. 1980, Camden, NJ) is a Venezuelan-American artist who explores the nuances of contemporary life in his videos, installations, paintings, and sculptures, which are often united together in richly-hued, dreamlike environments. His solo museum exhibitions include the 20-year retrospective Mr. Remember at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk, Denmark (2022–23), and the video survey Fresh Hell at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Japan (2023). In 2026, with the Whitney Museum’s Meg Onli and Scott Rothkopf, Da Corte will co-curate the first Roy Lichtenstein retrospective in New York in more than 30 years. Da Corte was the 2023 Philip Guston Rome Prize Fellow at the American Academy in Rome.

Delia Solomons is an Associate Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art at Drexel University. Her book Cold War in the White Cube: U.S. Exhibitions of Latin American Art, 1959–1968 (Penn State University Press, 2023) chronicled a boom of U.S. exhibitions that sought to codify “Latin American art” amid intensifying inter-American frictions after the Cuban Revolution. Her next book, Marisol’s Containment Culture, will explore how Marisol’s iconography, aesthetics, and public persona in the 1960s offered resonant distillations of the containment discourses that proliferated across postwar politics and culture. She has published articles in The Art Bulletin, journal of visual culture, Journal of Curatorial Studies (2014), and MoMA’s post: notes on art in a global context (2021), as well as essays for Marisol: A Retrospective (Buffalo AKG Art Museum, 2023), Alex Da Corte: Mr. Remember (Louisiana Museum of Art, 2022) and The Americas Revealed (The Frick Collection and PSU Press).
