This presentation will focus on the artist Zanele Muholi, who is one of the most acclaimed photographers of today and who describes themself as a visual activist. Focusing on their works in the Albright-Knox's collection from the photograph series Somnyama Ngonyama (Hail the Dark Lioness), we’ll explore themes of identity, race, and activism and how they can inspire lesson plan development and artmaking.
