About the Chef
Chef Alexa Joan is a Buffalo-born creative entrepreneur, visual artist, jewelry designer, and trained chef, who is an alumna of both City Honors High School and Canisius College, with a degree in the culinary arts from Erie Community College. She is an adjunct professor at ECC and an independent cooking and demonstration class instructor, as well as a private and personal chef. Chef Alexa uses her knowledge and experience to encourage healthier eating habits and relies on her creativity to break down the average person’s apprehensions about introducing alternative solutions into their diets.
As a part of the meal preparation for Mezaland, Chef Alexa will collaborate with other chefs and food-based organizations, creating meaningful conversation and contact in the kitchen, mirroring the activity and synergy that will happen at the table.
Open House Events
This event is presented on the occasion of Open House: Domestic Thresholds by Heather Hart, Edra Soto, and Rodney Taylor, which features projects that explore how people build connections to others both inside and outside the walls of those structures we call home. Throughout the course of the exhibition, join us at Albright-Knox Northland for related performances, workshops, and special events.
