Eddie Rodolfo Aparicio was born in 1990 in Los Angeles, where he lives and works. His large-scale sculptural works, composed of materials such as tree bark and fiber, focus on the connections between his home city and Central America, identifying multiple sites as a part of a continuous community and history. He sees this work as a crucial strategy of decolonial practice. Solo exhibitions have been held at MOCA Geffen, Los Angeles (2023), and the Los Angeles State Historic Park in collaboration with Clockshop (2021), while selected group exhibitions include those held at Prospect.6, New Orleans (2024), and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2024), among many others. Aparicio is a recipient of the California Community Foundation Fellowship for Visual Artists (2018). His work is in the collections of the Denver Art Museum; the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among others.
