The exhibition American Arts and Crafts: Virtue in Design, on view from January 14 to March 5, 1995, was a showcase for significant examples of late 19th- and early-20th century furniture, ceramics, and metal-working that exemplified the Arts and Crafts doctrine of functional design, natural materials, and handcrafted construction. Objects created in the Western New York area were represented by work of the Charles Rohlfs Workshop, the Roycroft Community, and Gustav Stickley's Craftsman Workshops.
