Albright-Knox Members: Dr. Janne Sirén and the staff of the Albright-Knox invite you to attend a Members’ Opening of two new exhibitions: Overtime: The Art of Work and Eye to Eye: Looking Beyond Likeness.
Inspired by works in the Albright-Knox’s Collection—from which more than half the exhibition is drawn—Overtime: The Art of Work examines the ways artists choose to represent work and workers. The exhibition, spanning from the late 18th century to the present, is organized by Curator Cathleen Chaffee.
Eye to Eye: Looking Beyond Likeness, organized by Godin-Spaulding Curator & Curator for the Collection Holly E. Hughes, is a Collection-based exhibition that examines how social conventions and artistic practice have shaped the genre of portraiture from the late eighteenth century to post-modernity.
Complimentary beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served. The Albright-Knox’s curators will present short talks on the exhibitions in the Auditorium at 6 and 6:30 pm.
RSVP online, or contact 716.270.8247, or membership@albrightknox.org.
A free public opening with a cash bar will follow from 7 to 9 pm.
