M&T FIRST FRIDAY: We the People—Incredible Journeys Talk & Book Signing
Friday, July 3, 2026
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT
FREE
Wilson Town Square, Knox Building
Join authors Mark Goldman and Laura Watts as they discuss their new book, Incredible Journeys.
In Incredible Journeys, the authors ask how the most beloved paintings of the AKG traveled from the artist's studio to their place on the walls of the museum. Their journeys were always circuitous and often treacherous. The stories here pull back the curtain on some of the most important people in the history of the museum: Lars Sellstedt, Cornelia Bentley Sage Quinton, A. Conger Goodyear, Seymour Knox, Sidney Janis and others. Many artists, many paintings, many people, many stories, which when taken together, reveal so much about the history of our cherished museum.
