The Buffalo AKG is known for exhibiting, acquiring, commissioning, and supporting the work of modern and contemporary artists. Less well-known are the important ways artists have, in turn, supported the AKG throughout the museum’s history. 

In this holiday season, join Dr. Cathleen Chaffee, Charles Balbach Chief Curator, to learn more about how artists’ gifts have transformed the museum’s collection. Enjoy a very special preview of the AKG-organized exhibition celebrating Marisol’s historic 2016 bequest: Marisol: A Retrospective, now on view through January 21, 2024, at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and opening July 2024 at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum.
