Growing up in the 80's in New York City, DJ Lisa Lux was immersed in Hip Hop at a young age. The culture was all around her. As she got older, she developed different passions in the arts such as drawing, painting, dancing, and writing. She began exploring the craft of DJing at the age of 12, with her first professional gig at just 17. Not too long after, she began playing at clubs and music industry events for record labels, for recording artists and professional athletes.

Along the way Lisa began learning and exploring the artform of turntablism. Being a young female in a male dominated industry at the time was challenging but she didn’t give up. Lisa persisted and moved forward in expanding her skills as a DJ over the years. Now a special education teacher in Buffalo NY, she continues to DJ events and uses Hip Hop to educate the next generation. DJ Lisa Lux is also co-founder of B.flo-Girls with break dancer B-girl Resolve. The collective aims to uplift women in Hip Hop and engages with the community through developing workshops and programs for youth and adults.
