The mission of the Kala Seva Arts & Cultural Society of India is to promote the arts and culture to the next generation of kids, young adults, and adults in the US. Knowing one’s roots and cultural affinities provides a strong sense of identity and improves self-esteem. With the support of Erie County, our well-wishers, government grants, and collaborative organizations, we thrive and contribute back to the community.
Rathi Ravi, the Founder and Director of the Kala Seva Arts & Cultural Society, aims to educate kids who are born in the US about their Indian roots and culture through song, dance, and various arts and cultural events. Rathi is all about collaborating and bringing community together in a healthy and productive way. Kala Seva was recently inducted into the “American Book of Records” for resurrecting an age-old ancient art form called “Villu Pattu,” a story-telling art form with music and dance. It is presented to the American community in English, so that anyone can enjoy, connect with, and appreciate the content.
