AKGather: The 158th Annual Meeting of The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy

Wednesday, September 30, 2020

6:30 pm EDT

Virtual Event

As we mark the 158th Annual Meeting of The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy, taking time to gather together, even if online, carries more meaning during these challenging times. We invite you to learn and share with us, in turn strengthening our mission and our community.

We are delighted to announce this year’s guest speaker, Pamela Joyner. Joyner, named one of the key “Deciders” in the art world by ARTnews in 2020, together with her husband Fred Giuffrida, has championed the work of African American artists for more than three decades. Her mission-driven collection works to help artists and institutions fill the historical and current voids to become more inclusive. It is a great honor to host Joyner this year; her insights will guide and inspire us as we plan for the opening of the new Buffalo AKG Art Museum in 2022.

We hope you will take the opportunity to join us on Zoom, perhaps with a drink or a snack that would not usually be allowed in our Auditorium. You will still hear remarks from Peggy Pierce Elfvin Director Janne Sirén, and you will find pertinent statistics, accomplishments, and financial information in our Annual Report, which will be shared on our website following the meeting.

Active AK Members are asked to RSVP to 716.270.8247 or membership@albrightknox.org by September 11, 2020. If you would like to attend but are not an active Member, we invite you to join or renew now.
