Inaugural Loan Exhibition

The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy opened its first permanent home and dedicated exhibition space with a collection of loans from institutional and private collectors. The Albright Art Gallery’s first director, Charles M. Kurtz, organized the exhibition. Featured artists included Cecilia Beaux (American, 1855–1942), Winslow Homer (American, 1836–1910), Childe Hassam (American, 1859–1935), George Inness (American, 1825–1894), Claude Monet (French, 1840–1926), and Camille Pissarro (French, 1831–1903).
