Organized by A. Conger Goodyear, Exhibition of Modern European Sculpture brought together six sculptors in survey of the state of modern sculpture. Featured artists included Frank Dobson (British, 1888–1963), Herman Haller (Swiss, 1880–1950), Georg Kolbe (German, 1877–1947), Carl Milles (Swedish, 1875–1955), and Ivan Meštrović (Croatian, 1883–1962) and Aristide Maillol (French, 1861–1944), both of whom had be the subject of major solo retrospectives at the museum two years earlier.
