The Director’s Lecture Series is back! Learn about modern and contemporary art from experts, including Peggy Pierce Elfvin Director Janne Sirén, and other special guests.
When art historians look back in time, the sounds and spoken words of the past seem to be beyond reach. In practice, this has meant treating images as texts—even when an image appears to scream to us. In the first lecture in this series, join Sirén as he describes how art historians can use the tools at their disposal to breathe life into the aural landscapes of the past.
Save the Dates: The Director’s Lecture Series will continue on Sundays, May 4 and June 22, with lectures on Anselm Kiefer and Gustave Courbet.
