About FIRST Lego League

The FIRST Lego League is an exciting robotics competition specifically created for students in grades 5 to 8. In Buffalo, there are 12 teams participating, while in the state of New York, there are a total of 160 teams. This competition is global in scope with over 20,000 active teams worldwide. There are numerous types of FLL teams available, including those affiliated with schools, scout troops, after-school programs, and even neighborhood or family teams. Teams of up to ten students design and build a five-pound Lego robot that they think will be able to earn as many points as possible in the Robot Game. Students participating in the Robot Game must also identify a community problem related to the theme and create an engineering solution for it.
