Join us for Sunday Insights, where community members relate their work and experience to the art on view. In conjunction with the special exhibition Robert Indiana: A Sculpture Retrospective, poet and artist Brent Cox will explore Robert Indiana’s literary inspirations.
About the Speaker
Brent Cox is a second-year PhD student in the Poetics Program at the University at Buffalo. He received an MFA from University of Washington, Bothell in Creative Writing and Poetics, and a BA from UCLA in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing: Poetry. His scholarly work focuses on poetry and art that resist and expand the boundaries of genre, medium, and identity. He is also a video artist and poet. He has a video forthcoming as part of a collaborative project in association with the release of Julie Carr's Real Life: An Installation (Omnidawn, 2018), and he will be presenting a video essay titled, "Visualizing the Depths in Susan Howe's Debths" at this year's &Now: A Festival of New Writing at the University of Notre Dame.
