American Regionalist photographer Todd Webb was interested in documenting everyday life in cities all over the world. In the 1930s, he studied at the Detroit Camera Club under Ansel Adams and eventually traveled all over the United States, photographing the traces of the Gold Rush. This photograph is from a series of images Webb took of people working in a marketplace in Patzcuaro, Mexico.
