Collection Highlights

All Collection Highlights
  • The Transparent Simulacrum of the Feigned Image, 1938

    Salvador Dalí

The Transparent Simulacrum of the Feigned Image
  • Rue de village à Marlotte (Village Street in Marlotte), 1866

    Alfred Sisley

This horizontally oriented canvas features a loosely painted rural scene of several old stone houses and a dirt road running between them. Tall trees rise above behind the roofs. The grey and somber light that pervades the scene overall streams from a cloudy sky in the top quarter of the canvas. In the painting’s middle ground, a human figure wearing a blue shirt and light-colored trousers raises an axe above his head in order to chop a large branch at his feet.
  • Petit nu bleu (Little Blue Nude), ca. 1878-1879

    Pierre-Auguste Renoir

A young white-skinned woman, nude to the waist, sits on the grassy bank of a body of water in the center of this vertically oriented painting. A blue cloth or portion of a garment with white edges loosely covers her lap. She grasps her left ankle, which rests on her right knee, with both hands, and she gazes toward the bottom left of the canvas. The paint was applied quickly and loosely with visible brushstrokes.
  • Sculpture classique (Classical Sculpture), 1964

    Jean (Hans) Arp

The gently curving contours of this white marble sculpture suggest a head, shoulders, and hips. The slim vertical form stands on top of and is contiguous with a cylindrical base.
  • Cinema, 1963

    George Segal

    Cinema
  • Only God Knows I'm Good, 2009 (produced 2011)

    Tracey Emin

The phrase “Only God Knows I’m Good” in cursive English script is fabricated in snow white neon, which is mounted on a wall.
  • Sky Cathedral, 1958

    Louise Nevelson

    Sky Cathedral
  • Flowers in a Vase, 1909

    Henri Rousseau

    Flowers in a Vase
  • Vega-Nor, 1969

    Victor Vasarely

A brightly colored grid stands out in sharp contrast against the dark blue and green background of this large-scale square painting. At the center of the work, the artist distorted the grid to create the optical illusion of a large spherical shape bulging out of this flat surface.
