1905 Building
Following in the legendary footsteps of its generous benefactor Seymour H. Knox, the Albright-Knox continues to acquire contemporary works of art while, as the saying goes, "the paint is still fresh." The Albright-Knox has established its world-renowned reputation by collecting significant works before their place in the history of art has been determined. This exhibition highlighted more than sixty works that the museum acquired since 1997. Works include paintings, sculpture, photographs, prints, and drawings by artists such as Cecily Brown, John Coplans, Olafur Elliasson, Inka Essenhigh, Mark Francis, Yayoi Kusama, Sharon Lockhart, Cathy de Monchaux, Malcolm Morley, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter, Doris Salcedo, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and Sam Taylor-Johnson.
For the first time at the Albright-Knox, an e-publication with a complete set of images and texts by Associate Curator Claire Schneider accompanied the exhibition.
This exhibition was organized by Associate Curator Claire Schneider
