About spud:
Punchy, catchy, and a tinge unhinged.
“Spud’s visceral music is perfectly suited to a live setting. [With] piercing guitar riffs and powerful vocals. . .”
Meret Kelsey, The Spectrum News
“In a world that often silences uncomfortable emotions, Spud screams for everyone.”
Paola Espinola, PopPunkers.com
Created and curated by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Demyia Browning (who goes by Spud), spud (the band) started as a predominantly piano-based solo project “Spud Spuddington,” and eventually morphed into its current iteration which combines brutally honest lyricism, riot girl vocals, fast-paced power trio instrumentals, and a pinch and a half of absurdity to make every performance a raw, unapologetic homage to the human experience. Spud frequently performs locally, solo and with the full band, and opened for Kimya Dawson at Indigo House in 2024. Their thrifted, hand-printed merch is available upon request, and their music is available on all major streaming platforms, as well as BandCamp.
