This free screening focuses on artists Steina and Woody Vasulka’s lifelong commitment to archiving, experimentation with the electronic signal, and performance of memory. Selections include PARTICIPATION (1969–71), VIOLIN POWER (1970–present), ART OF MEMORY (1986), and more!
The screening will be followed by a discussion with former Hallwalls Video Curator Chris Hill, Buffalo International Film Festival Executive Director Anna Scime, and Charles Balbach Chief Curator Cathleen Chaffee.
This screening coincides with the exhibition Steina: Playback, which will be on view in the Jeffrey E. Gundlach Building from Friday, March 14, through Monday, June 30, 2025.
