This reader was published on the occasion of the exhibition "Eija-Liisa Ahtila: Ecologies of Drama," on view at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery from October 10, 2015, to January 3, 2016. This is the first anthology of the literature on Eija-Liisa Ahtila’s work to date, including scripts of all fourteen of the artist’s moving-image installations; reprints of significant essays by Mieke Bal, Daniel Birnbaum, Elisabeth Bronfen, Alison Butler, Kaja Silverman, and Cary Wolfe; and interviews with the artist and Lena Essling, Chrissie Iles, Stephen Knudsen, and Cary Wolfe. It was edited by Albright-Knox Senior Curator Cathleen Chaffee.
