Ilana Savdie
Ilana Savdie (b. 1986) is a visual artist working primarily as a painter. Savdie was raised between Miami and Barranquilla, Colombia. Her canvases explore themes of identity, the body, beauty, and regional manifestations such as Barranquilla Carnaval celebrations. From visible brushstrokes to blurred patterns, she uses acrylic, oil, and beeswax to bring her colorful large-scale abstractions to life. Savdie lives and works in Brooklyn. She has had solo exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2023), and White Cube, London and New York (2022 and 2025). Her work has appeared in numerous group shows, including the National Gallery of Victoria’s 2023 NGV Triennial. Savdie has received the NXTHVN Fellowship and was an artist-in-residence in New Haven in 2020. Her work is held in international public and private collections, such as the Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Green Family Art Foundation, and the Burger Collection, Hong Kong.

Ilana Savdie, nacida en 1986, es una artista visual que se desempeña principalmente como pintora. Creció entre Miami y Barranquilla, Colombia. Sus lienzos exploran temas como identidad, cuerpo, belleza y expresiones regionales, como el Carnaval de Barranquilla. Usa acrílicos, óleos y cera de abejas para pintar desde pinceladas visibles hasta motivos borrosos y dar vida a sus coloridas abstracciones de gran formato. Savdie vive y trabaja en Brooklyn. Ha tenido muestras individuales en el Whitney Museum of American Art, Nueva York (2023), y White Cube, Londres y Nueva York (2022 y 2025). Su obra se ha incluido en numerosas exhibiciones colectivas entre las que se encuentra la NGV Triennial de la National Gallery of Victoria, 2023.
