Born in New Jersey in 1997, Amy Bravo is a New York visual artist of Italian-Cuban descent. She combines symbolic imagery—stylized palm trees, roosters, horses, slicked-back mustaches—with icons from Latin American popular and religious culture and hyper-personal family stories, to invent her own intimate and fantastic vision of an afterlife universe in the rough shape of the island of Cuba. Bravo’s exhibitions include group shows at Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York; WORKPLACE, London; and The FLAG Art Foundation, New York; as well as solo shows at NADA Miami with Swivel Gallery (2024) and a duo show at Swivel Gallery, New York (2022). She was awarded the Fountainhead Residency in Miami in 2022.
