Intro to Oil Painting: Landscape and Portraits (Four-Week Series, Ages 16+)

Learn about composition and color theory by looking at works in the collection and create a naturalistic portrait and or landscape. No experience necessary; geared for beginners.

Needle Arts: Intro to Stitching and Felting (Four-Week Series, Ages 16+)  

Use stitching and felting techniques to create your own personalized artwork, taking inspiration from new works in the collection made of fabric. No experience necessary. All supplies included.

Figure Drawing Workshops (Ages 21+)  

Informal life drawing sessions with a live nude model. Different gestures and poses offer a focused environment for studying the human form. Suitable for people with some prior experience. All supplies included. Sign up for an individual class or sign up for all three!

Tipsy Crafts (Ages 21+) 

Treat yourself! Join us for monthly make-and-take projects. Meet new crafters or sign up with a friend. Registration price includes one alcoholic beverage from Cornelia; nonalcoholic options are available. All supplies included.

CLAY CLASSES

Registration is required. All supplies are provided.

Please note: All clay projects will be glazed and fired. Pick-up dates will be arranged following each course to accommodate kiln-firing schedules.

Make a Bowl, Take a Bowl (Ages 16+) 

Learn a new skill and support a good cause at the same time! Create two useable bowls, one to take home and one to donate for charity. Donated bowls will contribute to our Empty Bowls fundraising event on February 24, supporting organizations fighting food insecurity.

Clay Jewelry (Three-Week Series, Ages 16+)  

Make your own ceramic charms that will be pieced together to make earrings and a pendant inspired by art from the collection. All supplies included.

Beginner’s Wheel Throwing (Three-Week Series, Ages 16+) 

Learn to throw on a pottery wheel. Create, decorate, and glaze a personalized clay vessel to take home. (One accessible wheel is available for those who use a wheelchair.)

Studio Art Class Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are available for youth and adult students who require financial assistance to attend studio art classes. If your combined family income is $55,000 or less, you are welcome to apply.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and scholarships are granted on a first-come, first-served basis starting July 1 of each year. Awarded students will receive one series of art classes free of charge.
