This installation drawn from the museum’s Archives and Library collections told the story of how the Albright-Knox became one of the first art museums in the United States to actively acquire and exhibit the new art of the 1950s.

This exhibition focused on 53 extraordinary Widelux images of Cummins Prison Farm taken more than 25 years ago, part of a larger group of works that center on prison culture in the United States.

From Tusk to Tail: Animals and Art represented a cross-section of birds and beasts from around the world and was the second exhibition organized in partnership with the Buffalo Museum of Science.

Op Art Revisited: Selections from the Albright-Knox Art Gallery aimed to explore the vast influence of Op art that today has seen a resurgence of interest from both contemporary artists and the public alike.

Works on Paper: The Natalie and Irving Forman Collection explored the remarkable evolution of the Forman Collection through a selection of the works on paper gifted to the museum by the couple.

This exhibition presented some of the museum’s most recent acquisitions of works on paper. While some of these artists work solely on paper, others utilize the medium to further explore the creative process and reflect an iconography they have developed in other bodies of work.

REMIX: Recent Acquisitions presented an overview of the Albright-Knox’s collecting habits over the course of the past five years.

Jennifer Steinkamp, a nationally touring retrospective exhibition organized by the San Jose Museum of Art, offered a comprehensive view of one of the most important and prolific female video and new media artists of our time.

REMIX: Color and Light was conceived as an opportunity to muse on color and light. It highlighted the variety of ways we use and interpret color, from the personal and emotional to the intellectual and historical.

This selection of works on paper offered a unique portrait of modern civilization by revealing facets of urban living through an exploration of anonymity, industry, commerce, and life in the steel jungle.

Through an ongoing collaboration, this exhibition brought together works from both the Albright-Knox's collection and the Buffalo Museum of Science, exploring a multitude of approaches to the sculpted human form.

The Panza Collection: An Experience of Color and Light included more than 70 works of art from the Panza Collection and was organized in consultation with Giuseppe Panza di Biumo, whose vision guided the project from the start.
