The Buffalo AKG cannot guarantee the availability of images for every artwork in our collection; artworks or their images may be unavailable due to condition, location, exhibition, collection priorities, copyright, or other restrictions. New digital images of artworks in the collection are always being added to the website, so please check back.
Obtaining and Using Images
The Buffalo AKG Art Museum creates, manages, and disseminates a broad range of digital images documenting the rich history of the museum and its collection. Many digital images of artworks in our collection are available for limited non-commercial, personal, and educational use (including scholarly publishing), according to the Terms of Use of this website. For other uses, or when an image is subject to third-party rights, images may be available for licensing.
For further information on obtaining and using images of artworks within the museum’s Fine Art Collection or images of our buildings, programs, exhibitions, leaders, and historical materials, please see below.
Our collections management team, including members of our Imaging and Visual Resources Department, are currently redeveloping our system for receiving and responding to requests for Images and Research regarding our collections, exhibitions, programs, and institutional history. We are unable to accept new queries at this time.
For requests submitted prior to May 26, 2026, please allow a period of approximately twelve weeks to receive a response from our Collections Management Team.
Thank you very much for your patience and interest.
