Cielo Félix-Hernández (b. 1998), a Puerto Rican transdisciplinary artist, was born in Rio Piedras and lives and works in Brooklyn. Working primarily in oil paint, she depicts figures who author their own narratives, constructed out of familiar Boricua and Caribbean iconographies. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo San Juan, Puerto Rico; El Museo del Barrio, New York; and Sargent’s Daughters, Los Angeles. Her first New York solo exhibition was held at Sargent’s Daughters in January 2022. Félix-Hernández has been an artist in residence at Abrons Art Center and Silver Arts, both in New York.

La artista transdisciplinaria Cielo Félix-Hernández nació en Río Piedra, Puerto Rico, en 1998. Vive y trabaja en Brooklyn. Utiliza con frecuencia la pintura al óleo para representar figuras que narran sus propias historias a partir de iconografías familiares caribeñas y boricuas. Ha expuesto de manera colectiva en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de San Juan, Puerto Rico; El Museo del Barrio, Nueva York, y en la galería Sargent’s Daughters, Los Ángeles. En enero de 2022 tuvo su primera muestra individual en Sargent’s Daughters, Nueva York. Ha participado en residencias artísticas en Abrons Art Center y Silver Arts en la misma ciudad.
