Studio Art Classes Code of Conduct
Studio Art Classes are meant to be fun, creative, and welcoming experiences for all.
To ensure that everyone can enjoy their experience, please:
· Be a good listener
· Respect others’ opinions and abilities
· Share materials as needed
· Respect the studio equipment
· Be kind and friendly
The following will not be tolerated:
· Violent behavior of any kind
· Physical or verbal bullying
· Offensive or vulgar language
· Deliberate touching or damaging a work of art
· Persistent violation of studio rules as set by the art instructor
· Any behavior that interferes with the participant’s health and safety or that of another class participant
The following actions will be taken if any of these circumstances arise:
First offense:
· The instructor will issue a verbal warning.
Second offense:
· The instructor may administer a separation and time-out.
Third offense:
· The instructor may administer an additional time-out and may issue a written warning to the student’s parent or guardian, if applicable.
Fourth offense:
· The offender may be dismissed from the class/remaining classes. If the student is under 18, their caregiver will be called, and the student will wait with a member of museum staff until the caregiver arrives. No refund will be given.
Immediate expulsion will occur if class participants are in possession of illegal drugs, alcohol, fireworks, firearms, or weapons, or if any of the behaviors listed above pose an immediate threat to others.
