Join us for a performance by The Lao Tizer Band, led by Colorado-born, LA-based keyboardist Lao Tizer. The Lao Tizer Band is a contemporary jazz fusion group known for their boundary-crossing musical style. Formed in 1998 with advice from renowned contemporary guitarist Chieli Minucci, the band was then known as Tizer.
Their musical style blends diverse influences, including jazz, rock, classical, jam band, Afro-Cuban, and world rhythms. Tizer himself is noted for his strong sense of groove and melodic piano work, while the band's arrangements are characterized by their dynamic force and innovative approach. They are known for creating imaginative live sets and incorporating surprising covers alongside their original material. The band's music is often described as accessible and melodic, appealing to a broad audience beyond traditional jazz.
