The Albright-Knox hosted this extraordinary exhibition from the renowned Phillips Collection, Washington, D.C. It featured 53 of the finest examples of European paintings and sculpture, including works by 19th and 20th century masters such as Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Vincent van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and Pierre Auguste Renoir.

The museum hosted a lecture series “Focus on Four” from May 8 to 20, 2003. Each were given by Mariann Smith, Curator of Education, and were entitled “Views of Light and Life: Pierre-Auguste Renoir,” “Cézanne, he is the greatest of us all,” “The Passions of Pablo Picasso,” and “The Whimsical World of Paul Klee” respectively.

Masterworks from The Phillips Collection anchored Bufffalo Niagara's Summerlong Sensation, the official 2003 I Love New York Summer Festival.

This exhibition was organized by The Phillips Collection, Washington, D.C. and Curator Kenneth Wayne.
