Join us for a performance of "excerpts" from the exciting new Ujima Company production of SPUNK, a TONY® nominated play with songs. Created by George C. Wolfe with music by Chic Streetman, and adapted for the stage from three short stories by Zora Neale Hurston. Using the blues, choral narrative, and dance, the three tales that comprise the play focus on men and women trapped inside the "laughin' kind of, lovin' kind of, hurtin' kind of pain that comes from being human.
This performance is presented in conjunction with the special exhibition In These Truths, an exhibition of works by Black cultural producers.
