Photography by Women Artists
Friday, May 28, 2010–Sunday, June 27, 2010
Photography by Women Artists, focused entirely on photographs created by women, was designed to challenge our notion of the female perspective. This intimate installation featured a dozen photographic works from the museum's collection by Angela Grauerholz, Sharon Lockhart, Shirin Neshat, Laurie Simmons, Gillian Wearing, and Carrie Mae Weems. As the title suggests, Photography by Women Artists celebrated a wide range of female talent in a mostly male-dominated contemporary medium.
This exhibition was organized by Curatorial Assistant Ilana Chlebowski and Curatorial Intern Sadie McManus.
