Upcoming Dates
Friday, June 6, 2025

This M&T FIRST FRIDAY is brought to you in partnership with Julia Bottoms, Tiffany D. Gaines, Eboni White, Garnell Whitfield, and Mark Talley. Reimagining the After (Again) continues the conversation from Before and After Again, an exhibition of artwork, prose, and poetry that respond to the tragic slaying of ten Buffalo residents on May 14, 2022, at the Tops Friendly Market on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo, New York. Through a day-long schedule of events, we invite community members to pause, reflect on their own experiences, commemorate the lives lost on that day, and honor their legacy by envisioning positive change, action, and possibilities for the City of Buffalo.

First Friday of every month
Pay-What-You-Wish Admission (onsite only, advance ticketing not available)
Museum-wide from 10 am to 9 pm

Every first Friday of the month, the community is invited to attend a special evening at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum filled with interactive art events and activities inspired by our exhibitions and the works on view.

Explore the Entire Museum!
Free Drop-In Art Activities and paid classes take place in our studios. Artist Demonstrations and other fun surprises take place in our Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Town Square. Drop-In Drawing moves throughout the museum, allowing visitors to see different works on view each month.

Hear from Our Community!
Community Insights invites local folks to share how their work relates to the art on view. This provides a new way to see how modern and contemporary art relate to our present moment in Western New York. Join us for curator- and docent-led tours of our exhibitions and collection.

Experience Something New!
Each month offers a changing array of music, talks, performances, and films throughout the museum. Listen to live music at our Sculpture Bar. Enjoy performances from local dance troupes and learn a few moves yourself! Hear conversations between artists, curators, and others in our Standford and Judith Lipsey Auditorium. Connect to the art on view through film and enjoy new and classic releases.

Admission to the Jeffrey E. Gundlach and Robert and Elisabeth Wilmers Buildings is Pay-What-You-Wish. Admission to the Seymour H. Knox Building is always free.
